Meet our team. The heart of our organization.
Ralph, also known as Ralphie, works alongside Sam at the dock. He likes to help our neighbors in need by giving it 110% each and every day. To keep himself energized for the day, he listens to music-- particularly "Ice Cube." During his off-time, Ralph enjoys hiking the trails in Utah.
Chances are, if you have volunteered at FARSB, you've worked with Robert, and he thanks you for it! When he is not fighting hunger at work, he is fishing or playing darts. Most importantly, one special day a year, he goes by "Santa," red suit and all, for his family!
Sam is one of the most experienced members of our team with nearly 20 years at FARSB! From inventory to physical counts he keeps the loading zone in tip-top shape! Sam has an exceptional work ethic and truly values the importance of his work. On weekends, he enjoys comic books, movies, and audio books.
As a native of the Los Angeles region, Rigo has fallen for Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. He hopes to help the members of the community who have welcomed him and his family to the area by eliminating hunger. His two biggest loves are his son and cars.
Robert (Beto) is the definition of hard work. Not only is he eager to get the job done in his workspace, but he continues to work hard even in his personal life, where he is a father of 4 and a Graduate Student at Cal State San Bernardino. Beto is also active in his church, where he volunteers to feed those in need while sharing scriptures of hope. He says that he is fortunate to work at the food bank and to be able to encourage others not to give up.
During his time here, Tyrell has used his friendly and relaxed personality to befriend staff, visitors, and partner charities alike. He thinks FARSB is a special place where hunger ends and team building begins. Among his many talents, Tyrell enjoys cooking a variety of cultural cuisines. He also has an impressive 3-point shot on the basketball court.
Paola joins FARSB with a bubbly personality and an excitement to help those in need. Serving at the warehouse front desk, Paola is typically the first face our partner charities see when they stop by. Beyond her food bank duties, Paola aspires to become a Registered Nurse. Some may be surprised to know that Paola is the ultimate girly girl. She loves the color pink, makeup, shopping, and Disneyland! Her favorite quote is, "God is within her, she will not fall."
Cesar is active in and outside of the food bank. When he is not helping prepare much needed USDA food for distribution, he enjoys watching sports and spending time with his daughter and son. Cesar is a fan of dancing and music, though he admits he is not the best dancer. When asked what he likes the most about working at the food bank, he responded, "working at the food bank is fulfilling. Everyday brings an endless bounty of opportunity."
Meet Christina. Though she may be new to our staff, Christina’s regular experience as a FARSB Volunteer has made her an ideal ambassador for our cause. Her current role at the food bank requires her to instruct and lead daily volunteer programs. In her personal life, Christina is particularly close to her grandma, whom she visits weekly. Christina also has a very special place in her heart for helping those with intellectual disabilities, whom she believes are the most loving and hardworking individuals. Be sure to say hi to Christina when you see her!
It looks like we have an artist on our hands! Brian quickly adapted to his role in the distribution center, but we soon learned that his abilities spanned far beyond that! Not only does Brian play guitar, but he plays piano, paints, and draws! We love his artistic abilities and can't wait to see these put to use at the food bank.
