Community Partner Program

Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Together We Feed

Our Community Partner Program is the heartbeat of our mission, uniting us with over 250 dedicated local nonprofit organizations. Together, we form a formidable alliance against hunger, reaching the farthest corners of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Through this partnership, we guarantee that food safety and compliance standards are upheld, prioritizing the well-being of those we serve. We go beyond the pantry shelves, offering invaluable training opportunities, limited deliveries, and both cash and in-kind grants. With our partnerships, we can expand local hunger relief initiatives and ultimately feed more people. Within this program, we hope to:

  • Expand outreach

  • Foster community relationships

  • Build capacity

  • Tailor support

  • Maintain resource efficiency

"Our partnership has equipped our team with valuable [USDA] training and resources, to better serve our community"

The Emergency Food Assistance Program

Providing Hope, Strengthening Resilience

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a powerful collaboration between the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. farmers, growers, producers, and our organization. Through this initiative, the USDA acquires nutritious foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and essential staples, from local producers to aid individuals and families facing hardship. In partnership with organizations throughout Riverside and San Bernardino counties, we act as a vital link, connecting food-insecure neighbors with accessible nutrition, ensuring that hunger is alleviated for all. TEFAP aims to:

  • Increase food accessibility

  • Support local producers

  • Stimulate local economies

  • Reduce food waste

  • Encourage community collaboration

Retail Rescue Program

Feeding the Community, Saving the Planet

Our Retail Rescue Program demonstrates our commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being. With our goal to feed more people and fewer landfills, we work with local donors and retail partners to help provide some of our partner organizations with the food they need. In 2022 alone, we successfully rescued over 12.1 million pounds of food from ending up in landfills. Retail Rescue entails direct food pick-ups from neighborhood grocery stores and helping community partners secure more food faster for their clients at no cost. This exclusive program also helps grocery retailers benefit from reduced disposal costs and donation tax advantages while supporting local hunger-fighting programs. Retail Rescue strives to:

  • Reduce food waste

  • Increase food access

  • Promote environmental sustainability

  • Bridge community and corporate partnerships

  • Broaden scale across the Inland Empire

"We can now feed more people."

"The current situation with the economy, a lot of people who did not need assistance before are finding themselves needing to be dependent on different food pantries and programs, and so the need has increased triple in the two years that I have been here in this location. We really appreciate the partnership with you guys (FARSB) and what you do to be able to assist us in helping the community. A lot of what we do can’t be done without the help of other people."

"The box truck was donated to us from Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino has helped us a lot with our success. In our 2022 RAM, we are able to pick up meat. We are able to get more meat now. Because they donated to us and usually within five minutes, it has to be in a freezer. Now we can get it half an hour away and get it in the freezer."
