Volunteers play a crucial role in our efforts to alleviate hunger in the Inland Empire! Volunteering at our food bank allows you to directly impact the lives of vulnerable individuals and families in your community. By contributing your time and effort, you can help alleviate hunger and provide essential sustenance to those who are struggling to make ends meet. Requirements

  • All Volunteer Shifts:

    • All volunteers who sign up for a volunteer shift must commit to staying for the entire duration of the shift. 

    • Volunteers must register online. Walk-ins are NOT allowed.

    • The minimum age to volunteer is 12 years old.

    • Minors must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone during the entire shift. Upon registration, minors must have a release form signed by a parent or guardian. Parents or guardians must sign a separate release form for themselves.

    • Volunteers must always wear jeans/pants, a t-shirt, and closed-toed shoes.

    • Please bring your own water.

  • For Senior Mobile Pantry and Gleaning Shifts: 

    • We recommend bringing sun protection, for shifts that are not at the food bank and may be outdoors for extended periods.

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    • Ability to stand, walk, etc. during the whole duration of the shift.

NOTE: We are NOT accepting court-order volunteers at this time.

Involves categorizing, inspecting, and organizing donated items to ensure efficient distribution and maximum impact in combating hunger.

SENIOR MOBILE

Provide essential food assistance to elderly individuals in underserved communities, fostering a sense of connection and support for those in need. Distribution sites vary.

GLEANING

When properties begin to overflow during harvest season, FARSB sends a group of volunteers to "glean" the site. Volunteer your property—or your time—with our food bank.

We love having corporate teams join us in our Volunteer Center. Before you join us, consider the following: Help us continue to share your company's great work by providing us with a team-branded shirt! We are currently working on building a t-shirt display wall to highlight our incredible volunteer teams. Leave it with the volunteer staff upon arrival, and we'll take care of the rest!

Become a Leader.

Are you a frequent volunteer at the food bank or at a Senior Mobile Pantry site? Consider joining our Volunteer Lead Program. 

Our Volunteer Leads play an integral role in fulfilling our mission. Not only do they aid new volunteers in the warehouse, but get first dibs on volunteer shifts and special volunteer activities, including Food Distributions and our annual events.
