FARSB Wins Live Oak Canyon's Choose Your Cause, Cast Your Vote

FARSB wins big with Live Oak Canyon's "Choose Your Cause, Cast Your Vote" giveback campaign!

Your local food bank was honored to represent hunger-relief as part of Live Oak Canyon's giveback campaign in honor of their 45th anniversary celebration. This campaign was offered as a way to showcase local nonprofits in the IE and the work they do for their community as the farm celebrates its 45th year in operation.

As one of five organizations represented in the competition, FARSB was featured as the Ending Hunger cause amongst Animal Welfare, Youth Development, and Community Support.

FARSB For the Win

As FARSB took first place, we will receive a grand prize of $4,500 in cash and $500 in prizes. Each nonprofit organization that took part in the campaign will receive a smaller cash prize for participating, with FARSB getting the largest portion of the $10,000 prize pool.

This win comes from our local community voting for FARSB online during the open voting period, for which they were entered into a raffle for a chance to win VIP Tickets to Live Oak Canyon's Pumpkin Patch, valued at $200 each.

With this donation, funds will go toward our hunger-relief programs to ensure that every household in the IE has the food they need to thrive throughout the autumn season!

FARSB Day at Live Oak Canyon Farm

In addition to winning, Live Oak Canyon Farm will also be hosting a "FARSB Day" during their pumpkin season on Saturday, October 25th.

We will be there tabling from Noon-5PM, and they will be collecting food all day. Anyone who brings an item from their list will receive a (1) Free Ride Ticket. View more details HERE.

FARSB Staff Winner

All staff, volunteers, and neighbors were encouraged to vote for the nonprofit of their choice, and one of these was our own Volunteer Services Supervisor, Luis Molina. This entered him into the raffle to win tickets to Live Oak Canyon's annual Pumpkin Patch, and he won!

Luis handles all things involving volunteers, including scheduling group events and volunteer opportunities for gleaning. This is much deserved, and now, he and his family will be able to enjoy the day spent at the Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch this fall thanks to this campaign.
