In a powerful affirmation of community-driven change, Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation has awarded over $13.5 million in grants to organizations committed to uplifting lives and building resilience. Among the recipients is FARSB, which received $100,000 to enhance its Nourish Now program—a transformative initiative focused on providing emergency, supplemental food kits and other essential items for those who are homebound due to physical limitations or lack of access to transportation.

A Grant That Strengthens Communities

The funding comes through the 2025 San Manuel Cares grant cycle and aligns with the “Empowering Lives” giving pillar. This pillar supports programs that support underserved and at-risk communities through essential services including food security, housing assistance, legal aid, senior care and workforce development.

For FARSB, the grant represents more than financial support—it’s a catalyst for deeper impact.

“We are deeply grateful to Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel for their generous support and belief in our mission,” said Joanna Solorio, Interim CEO of FARSB. “This grant will allow us to support our homebound neighbors with emergency, supplemental food deliveries, creating lasting change for those who need it most.”

Guided by Yawa’: Acting on Beliefs

Chairwoman Lynn Valbuena of Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation shared: “For over two decades, the call of Yawa’—a Serrano value meaning ‘to act on one’s beliefs’—has guided our giving programs and community efforts. We are proud to support organizations like FARSB that uplift our communities by reaching some of the most vulnerable populations to provide critical services.”

What’s Next for Nourish Now

With this new funding, Nourish Now will:

  1. Expand access to essential nutrition for homebound residents by extending monthly deliveries to additional underserved areas and increasing the number of households served.

  2. Increase food security and individual well-being by enhancing the nutritional quality of food boxes for homebound households.

  3. Scale program impact and strengthen community connection by growing delivery capacity and volunteer engagement.

The goal: to create a ripple effect of empowerment and stability across the Inland Empire community.

Investing in Generations to Come

Since the early 2000s, Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation has awarded more than $425 million through the San Manuel Cares program—an extraordinary investment in the future of Serrano Ancestral Lands and Indian Country.

With this latest grant, FARSB is poised to expand its mission and deepen its impact. To learn more about Nourish Now, visit www.FeedingIE.org/withoutbarriers.
