We’re sharing an important leadership update with our community.
After eight and a half years of dedicated service, Carolyn has made the decision to step down from her role as CEO at Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB). We are deeply grateful for her leadership and the strong foundation she has built for our organization. Her vision and commitment have positioned FARSB for continued growth and impact in the years ahead.
Our Board of Directors is actively engaged and will be conducting a thoughtful nationwide search for our next CEO, with a focus on continuing the momentum our community depends on.
During this transition, Joanna Solorio will continue serving as Interim CEO through the end of June, after which she will begin her maternity leave. At that time, Vanesa Rangel-Mercado, our Partner Relations Director, will step into the role of Interim CEO.
Vanesa has been a dedicated leader at FARSB since 2014, bringing more than a decade of experience across multiple areas of the organization. In her current role, she leads engagement with community partners and ensures alignment with FARSB’s strategic priorities. Her collaborative leadership style, deep institutional knowledge, and strong relationships across the Feeding America network have been instrumental in advancing our mission.
As always, our work continues uninterrupted, and we remain focused on serving our community with the same care and commitment.
We will share updates as they become available. Thank you for your continued support of our mission!
Warm regards,
Kurt Schwabe, Ph.D.
